With an Italian heritage, we started baking in 2018 and opened Eli's Bakery on 2020. Offering hand baked goods such as breads, sweet and savoury pastries, and now our signature milkshakes, we are pleased to be able to bring a piece of Italy to the north east.

Been going around to all the local bakeries trying their white sourdough (I feel like this is the foundation to know if a bakery is good) and I finally got to Eli’s (went to their bakery not a market). I gave the white sourdough a 7.5/10, because it had a light and airy dough, the crust was intact but very crunchy - almost burnt, the exterior wasn’t crumbly or cake-like, the tangy taste was subtle and had an aftertaste I couldn’t put my finger on, but the dough was soft and creamy. They also don’t have a slicing machine so you just get the whole loaf; although that is pretty standard and not everywhere offers it (however that would give it an extra point). Overall, it is a very delicious sourdough and I would get it again; I’m not complaining, just comparing. They also offer other breads, pastries, bagels, and coffee - had a croissant which was so buttery and light when warmed up, and a cookie from them as well which was delicious and loaded with chocolate chips. Exited to return to try their infamous Portuguese tarts.

I absolutely love this bakery. The sourdough is amazing and the pastries are excellent. I love there breakfast bagel but today had there new fried chicken bagel and it was absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend. 5 stars every time

Delicious savoury pastry: Nduja, fennel, and Parmesan. They sell out very quickly. We arrived at 10.45 and had hardly any pastries left.

Went this morning as they opened. Bought Crossiants and pain au chocolat. Both very tasty and looked amazing. Such a good crunch and very flakey thank you for a lovely breakfast!

Fantastic little bakery. Really tasty and sometimes inventive bakes. The staff are lovely and friendly too! Highly recommend!

Just been in for the first time and have to think I could regret this decision. Have to say the quality was superb. Forget any supermarket produce as this is many levels of quality and taste above. Will definitely be going back for more. Definitely a hidden gem and well worth a visit if you haven’t been yet.
